Lack of a government-constructed district hospital in Dormaa Ahenkro signifies the poor performance of the former Health Minister – Dormaa Central NDC PC fumes
The Dormaa Central Constituency NDC parliamentary candidate, Hon.John Kwame Adu Jack, has lamented what he describes as the lack of a government hospital in the Dormaa Central Constituency, attributing this to a failure in leadership on the part of the former Health Minister and Dormaa Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, for his inability to construct a government hospital for Dormaa Ahenkro during his seven-year tenure as Ghana’s Health Minister.
He expressed concerns about how we rely on the Presbyterian Hospital, adding that if, for any reason, the Dormaa Constituency and its surrounding areas do not receive a government hospital, then at the very least, Kwaku Agyemang Manu should have supported the existing Presbyterian Hospital to establish an accident and emergency unit that could serve the people of Dormaa.
However, he has failed to deliver, emphasizing that there have been numerous occasions where patients have been attended to in chairs, which is unethical and indicative of leadership failure in the Constituency.
He stressed that the current government’s Agenda 111 project at Amasu cannot be completed within the next two months. Therefore, the next NDC government under John Mahama will continue and complete it when they assume power.
He added that John Dramani Mahama will carry forward every project initiated by any administration upon his election, thereby enabling Him (John Kwame Adu Jack) to complete the Agenda 111 project and provide the necessary support for the existing structures.
Hon. John Kwame Adu Jack underscored that he will distinguish himself from other politicians by refraining from imposing projects on his constituents. Instead, he will solicit their needs and address them accordingly.
He emphasized that nothing surpasses the Government of Ghana in terms of the nation’s economic matters. Therefore, if any project exceeds the financial capacity of an individual politician, they should seek governmental assistance. This underscores his resolve to consult his constituents prior to initiating any project.
Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, Member of Parliament for the Dormaa Central Constituency and former Health Minister responding to Hon.John Kwame Adu Jack’s assertion that the Dormaa Central Constituency lacks a government hospital stated that such claims indicate John Jack has little or no knowledge of the current state of Ghana’s health sector, thus rendering him unfit to serve as a member of Parliament.
He elucidated that the government has collaborated with Christian and Muslim leaders, establishing that in areas where there are religious institution hospitals, the government should not establish new hospitals but rather support and furnish the existing ones.
He further explained that the government assists in remunerating the staff of various hospitals, hence Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital serves as the District Hospital for Dormaa Central
