In a major diplomatic breakthrough, The Ministry of Affairs Hon. Ablakwa speaks on Ghanaian citizens will now be able to travel to Morocco without the need for traditional visas. Effective immediately, Ghanaians can obtain an online travel authorization within 24 hours—eliminating the need for embassy appointments and streamlining the process for tourism, business, and cultural exchange.

 

This landmark agreement was finalized during a recent two-day working visit between Ghana and Morocco, led by Ghana’s Foreign Affairs delegation and Morocco’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Nasser Bourita. As part of broader bilateral discussions, the visa waiver is expected to significantly boost trade and tourism between the two nations.

 

With direct flights already in operation—and more expected to follow—the path to increased collaboration is clearer than ever. The agreement not only simplifies mobility but also symbolizes a forward-thinking approach to intra-African relations. By reducing travel barriers, both countries are setting a precedent for how African nations can foster deeper people-to-people connections and economic integration.
