The MP for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency and Minister of Communications in the Presidency has assured residents that long-distance travel for medical care will soon end, thanks to new CHPS compounds in their communities.
Speaking to Channel 247 news Yaw Boagyan during the commissioning of CHPS compounds in Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated that constituents will no longer need to travel far for healthcare as long as he remains their MP.

He revealed that the government has allocated funds from the District Assemblies Common Fund to build CHPS compounds in every constituency, including Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese.
Three such facilities have already been commissioned here.
“I am doing my best to bring healthcare to the doorsteps of my communities through these CHPS compounds,” he said.
“When it comes to healthcare, I am very focused on promoting it.”
Hon. Ofosu added that President John Dramani Mahama’s Free Primary Healthcare policy is working nationwide, and Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese will fully benefit.
Each district across Ghana will receive two modern CHPS compounds to strengthen primary healthcare delivery.
The government is committed to ensuring Ghanaians enjoy quality healthcare everywhere, he emphasized.
He urged residents of Abeka and Nyamedom to use the new facilities responsibly so they last longer.
