Victor Kojoga Adawudu, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, has criticised the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, describing it as a politically motivated move by the previous administration.
According to him, the office was created primarily to fulfil a campaign promise made by the erstwhile government under Nana Akufo-Addo, rather than being carefully planned and implemented.
He argued that the process appeared rushed, raising concerns about the effectiveness and long-term impact of the institution.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor was established to investigate and prosecute corruption-related offences, but critics like Adawudu believe its formation lacked adequate groundwork.
His comments add to ongoing political debate over the performance and independence of the anti-corruption body.
