Ghana Armed Forces Begins Training First Batch of 2,000 Recruits

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially begun training the first batch of 2,000 recruits selected in its 2026 recruitment exercise. This marks a significant step in bolstering the country’s defence and security capabilities.

The recruits, who successfully completed the selection and reporting process earlier this week, have now reported to the designated training centres to commence their military preparation. Training will cover a comprehensive range of military skills, including physical fitness, discipline, weapon handling, and leadership development.

According to the Ghana Armed Forces, this is the first of several planned intakes for 2026, as the military aims to strengthen its manpower and readiness. Each recruit received official appointment letters and instructions before beginning the rigorous training programme.

The GAF emphasised the importance of commitment, discipline, and patriotism during training, noting that the recruits will be groomed to serve the nation in various capacities, both at home and abroad.

The commencement of this training programme has been widely welcomed by Ghanaians, many of whom see it as a positive step toward enhancing national security and providing employment opportunities for the youth.

As the recruits embark on this journey, the Ghana Armed Forces reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and excellence in the military service.
