According to reports, CHELSEA has closed their first summer sale.
In order to comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the Blues are trying to unload players.
Fabrizio Romano now asserts that they have reached an agreement for Hakim Ziyech to go permanently.
The 31-year-old Moroccan winger came to Galatasaray last summer on a season-long loan.
The journalist now claims that he intends to remain there permanently.
“Hakim Ziyech will not be returning to Chelsea as he is staying in Galatasaray on a permanent move,” Romano said on X.
“Obligation to buy clause, activated and executed since Chelsea had already corresponded with Gala to validate the arrangement.”
January saw a rise in rumors that Galatasaray was considering early loan termination for Ziyech because of injury concerns.
But it appears that his performance in the second half of the season convinced them to extend the contract.
With 21 appearances this season, Ziyech has eight goals to his name.
What transfer fee the English team will get for the attacker is still unknown.
In 2020, Ziyech was acquired by Chelsea from Ajax for a sum of £34 million.
Within the first 18 months of his stay at Stamford Bridge, the star lifted the Champions League, Uefa Super Cup, and Fifa Club World Cup, but he was not very impressive.
He was permitted to travel to Turkey last summer after making just 64 Premier League appearances and scoring just six goals.
And with six goals in 16 games, he has excelled for Gala in the elite division.
Over the next weeks, Ziyech and his Galatasaray teammates hope to complete the double.
They presently lead the Turkish Super Liga by six points over Fenerbahce, who is in second place.
Three games remain in the season, with a pivotal matchup between the top two scheduled for May 19.
Earlier in the season, Galatasaray was crowned the victors of the Turkish Super Cup after Fenerbahce forfeited the match.
After two minutes, their opponents, who had fielded an U19 team, left the field.
