A 44-year-old man has been remanded into police custody by the Kasoa Ofaakor Court over allegations of sexually abusing his four biological daughters at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Ekumfi, is facing allegations including defilement and sodomy involving his four daughters.
The case reportedly came to light after the mother of the children, Antoinette Boakye, noticed unusual signs on her eldest daughter and began making enquiries.
According to reports, the mother said her daughter disclosed that she had allegedly been abused by her father and further revealed that her three younger sisters had also suffered similar abuse.
The children, aged 12, 8, 6 and 4, are alleged to have been threatened by their father not to disclose the incident.
The matter was reported to the Millennium City Police Command, leading to the arrest and subsequent prosecution of the suspect.
The Kasoa Ofaakor Court has since remanded Emmanuel Ekumfi into police custody, with the case adjourned to September 15, 2026.
The mother has appealed to the authorities to expedite the case and ensure that the children receive the necessary protection, medical attention and psychological support.
The allegations are yet to be proven in court, and the accused remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
