Cole Palmer has shared the direct message he exchanged with one of his childhood heroes in 2015.

It has already been nine years and the 22-year-old has followed in their footsteps.

Cole Palmer shared a direct message he made to Eden Hazard in 2015.

The Chelsea midfielder referred to the legendary player as “the best player in the world.”

Palmer scored seven goals in four games to win the Premier League Player of the Month award on Friday.

Goal of the Month went to the Chelsea midfielder who scored his first goal in the team’s 6-0 victory over Everton.

He earned the monthly award, following in the footsteps of Blues great Eden Hazard.

In October 2016 and September 2018, the Belgian player received the Player of the Month award.

Palmer has since disclosed that in March 2015, he wrote Hazard a message.

He shared a screenshot of the statement on his Instagram account, along with photos of the two players holding their prizes.

Palmer was pictured in the screenshot sporting the Manchester City academy’s number 10 shirt.

“You’re the best player in the world,” he wrote in his message, which also included football and love heart emojis.

When he posted accompanying the screenshot, Palmer—who was only 13 at the time—wrote, “When you message one of your idols in 2015 & follow the footsteps.” @hazardeden_10.

Between 2012 and 2019, Hazard played seven years at Chelsea, making 352 games and scoring 110 goals.

Six significant trophies were also won by him, two of which were Premier League crowns.

Palmer’s hat-trick in a victory against Manchester United earlier in April was followed by his four goals against Everton.

With his current form, he now has 21 league goals this season and nine assists from 30 Chelsea games.

Nominations for the Premier League Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season have been extended to the former City sensation.

Palmer was named the April Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month winners.

Hazard spent seven years at Stamford Bridge and was voted Player of the Month twice.
