The Ministry of Education in Ghana has announced that two basic schools in the Awutu Senya District will benefit from the establishment of Smart Classrooms. The classrooms, equipped with digital facilities such as teacher laptops, projectors, virtual libraries, and 50 tablets, are part of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance learning outcomes and promote digital literacy among pupils.

The move follows a successful lobbying effort by the District Chief Executive of the Awutu Senya District Assembly, Hon. Joseph Aidoo. The two schools selected to benefit from the establishment of the Smart Classrooms are Awutu St. Kilian Catholic Basic School and Papaase St. Peters Catholic Basic A School.

The Ministry of Education is collaborating with Hatchery Positivo BGH to establish Smart Classrooms in selected basic schools across the country. The classrooms will be established in already existing classrooms in the selected schools.

The announcement was made in a letter signed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, who thanked Hon. Joseph Aidoo for his efforts in bringing the needs of the schools and the district, in particular, to the attention of the ministry. The establishment of the Smart Classrooms is expected to enhance teaching and learning in the selected schools and promote digital literacy among pupils.
