The Central Regional Police Command through intelligence-led operation has arrested suspect driver Francis Ampomah for possessing ammunitions without lawful authority.
On May 27th, 2026, about 12:30 am, police at the Green Field Plantation snap-check point through intelligence intercepted a Voxy vehicle with registration number GT 9748-26, driven by suspect Francis Ampomah who was driving from Accra heading towards Assin Fosu and had in his possession 14 yellow and brown boxes containing shotgun ammunitions unlawfully, after a search was conducted on the vehicle.
Each box contained 250 cartridges of ammunitions.
The suspect driver, Francis Ampomah, has since been arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations, and the Voxy vehicle has also been impounded.
The case is under investigations.
