Hon. Joseph Aidoo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Awutu Senya District, attended the first major General Traditional Council meeting of the Chiefs and people of Senya Beraku in 2023, which took place on Wednesday, 22nd February at the Traditional Council Hall. The Acting President of the Council, Ipi Kwa Bentum IV, chaired the meeting, which was productive and forward-thinking.

During the meeting, Hon. Joseph Aidoo updated the Council on various ongoing development projects in the community. He outlined the priority projects for the year, which included the construction of the Akoti Senya Beraku road, a six-unit classroom block, and the completion and development of Senya Fish Market.

Hon. Aidoo suggested establishing a market day for Senya, with a plan to invite others to come for the fish market. He stressed that the market’s success would require the commitment of the chiefs and people to ensure there is always an abundance of fish for those coming to buy.

Hon. Aidoo also provided an update on the ongoing construction of the Bawjiase-Kasoa road, which is progressing well. He informed the Council that the district would soon have its first hospital since independence, thanks to the Agenda 111 initiative of the Nana Addo government, with construction progressing satisfactorily. Additionally, the district has acquired land in Awutu Bentum for the creation of a yam market, with construction underway.
