PRESIDENT MAHAMA PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR SENTUO OIL REFINERY AS HE CUTS SOD FOR SECOND PHASE TO BOOST DOMESTIC SUPPLIES & FOR EXPORT.

President John Dramani Mahama has indicated his unwavering commitment to support Private oil refineries in Ghana with local crude oil from the jubilee fields to enhance self reliance in our oil needs.

 

 

Sod cutting for the second phase of SENTUO oil refinery has been held with government indicating stronger partnership with the private sector.

 

He said government will facilitate the supply about 20,000 barrels of crude oil from the Jubilee fields to sentuo oil refinery to enhance self sufficiency in Ghana and for export.

 

Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony for the second phase of SENTUO oil refinery,President Mahama further said the supply of crude from the jubilee field to sentuo will translate into refining 40,000 barrels of oil per day to generate opportunities for employment, government partnership with the private sector is aimed at resetting the country to pave way for economic development.

 

 

Chinese Ambassador to Ghana,H.E. Cong Song however affirmed the government of china and Ghana will continue to collaborate for a win win strengthening the economies of the two countries.

 

 

 

The sod cutting ceremony was graced by Minsters of Energy and green transition,Joh Abdulai Djinapor,Minster for trade and Agri business,Honourable Ofosu Adjare, the cleargy among other dignitaries.

 

Sentuo oil refinery is a private initiative by a Chinese and it had made strides in the refining of crude oil to reduce the burden of importation of refined oil for domestic.

With the support being initiated to resource the local refineries in Ghana,Ghana will not only be self sufficient but will be able to export finished fuel products to neighbouring countries.
