The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, is set to embark on a two-day working tour of the Central Region as part of his government’s #ResettingGhana agenda aimed at inspecting ongoing development projects, engaging citizens, and reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social services across the country.

The visit, scheduled for Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27, 2026, has been announced by the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC) under the leadership of the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah.

According to the CRCC, the President’s tour will provide him with the opportunity to assess the progress of key government projects, interact with local authorities and residents, and gather first-hand information on the developmental needs of communities within the region.

Day One – Friday, June 26, 2026

President Mahama will begin his tour at 11:00 a.m. with a sod-cutting ceremony at Assin Breku in the Assin North District, marking the commencement of a major development project expected to boost socio-economic growth in the area.

At 1:00 p.m., the President will visit the Nyamedom CHPS Compound, where he will inspect the healthcare facility and officially present Free Healthcare Kits to support the government’s primary healthcare initiative aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services.

The President will then proceed to inspect the ongoing GNAT Hostel Project at Polycamp Junction in the Cape Coast North Constituency at 2:00 p.m.

The project is expected to improve accommodation for teachers and contribute to the educational development of the region.

Later in the afternoon, at 3:00 p.m., President Mahama will inspect the progress of the Kafodzidzi–Aburansa Road Project in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA) Municipality.

The road project is expected to improve transportation, enhance trade, and facilitate easier movement for residents and businesses.

The day’s activities will conclude with a visit to the historic Cape Coast Castle at 3:30 p.m., where the President is expected to tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site and underscore the importance of preserving Ghana’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Day Two – Saturday, June 27, 2026

On the second day of the tour, President Mahama will inspect the ongoing Apam–Mumford–Hweda–Dago–Otuam Road Project at 10:30 a.m.

The project is expected to improve connectivity among several communities and stimulate economic activities within the coastal corridor.

At 11:30 a.m., the President will hold a #ResettingGhana Citizens’ Engagement at the Mephiboseth Auditorium, Apam Junction, where he is expected to interact with residents, traditional authorities, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.

The engagement will provide an opportunity for citizens to share their concerns, offer suggestions, and receive updates on government policies and development initiatives.

The President will conclude his regional tour with an inspection of the Winneba Junction Underpass Project at 3:00 p.m., a major infrastructure project designed to improve traffic flow, enhance road safety, and support economic activities along one of the country’s busiest highways.

The Central Regional Coordinating Council has extended a cordial invitation to chiefs, queen mothers, assembly members, religious leaders, youth groups, stakeholders, and the general public to actively participate in the scheduled activities and accord President Mahama a warm and memorable welcome during his visit to the Central Region.

The Council expressed confidence that the President’s visit will further strengthen the partnership between government and the people while accelerating the implementation of developmental projects under the #ResettingGhana agenda.
