Hon. Gorden Asubonteng, also known as Asuo, is confident that his track record of developmental projects will secure him the Dormaa Central parliamentary seat in both the internal and general elections. Asubonteng, who is running for the seat under the NDC, served as Municipal Chief Executive from 2013 to 2017 and worked closely with then-President John Mahama to oversee the construction of 25 projects in the education and health sectors, as well as the rehabilitation of the Dormaa central market. Additionally, he oversaw the construction of various water and sanitation projects. Asubonteng believes that his contributions to the development of Dormaa Ahenkro, where he has remained since his tenure as MCE ended, will help him win the primaries and the parliamentary seat. He is confident that his track record will resonate with NDC party delegates who prioritize project-oriented leaders.
Asubonteng recently filled his nomination forms for the Dormaa Central NDC parliamentary primaries and has been vocal about his contributions to the party. He served as a member of the NDC from 2013 to 2017 while he was MCE and noted that the support of the then-President John Mahama and chiefs of Dormaa Ahenkro allowed him to facilitate development for his constituents.
In an interview with High Radio’s Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, Asubonteng expressed his optimism about winning the primaries and the parliamentary seat. He believes that members of the NDC prioritize leaders who have a track record of delivering on developmental projects, and his 4-year tenure as MCE and contributions to Dormaa Ahenkro outside of politics demonstrate that he is a projects-oriented personality.
Asubonteng is focused on continuing to develop Dormaa Central constituency and believes that his experience and track record make him the best candidate for the job. He is eager to work with the people of Dormaa Central and to deliver on the promises he has made during his campaign.
The upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries will be closely watched, and Asubonteng is confident that his track record and experience will help him secure the nomination. If successful, he will continue to work towards the development of Dormaa Central constituency and to represent his constituents in Parliament.
