The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the termination of Otto Addo’s contract as head coach of the Black Stars, Ghana’s senior national football team.
Addo’s departure follows the team’s disappointing defeats in their pre–World Cup friendly matches against Austria and Germany in March.
In a statement confirming the decision, the GFA expressed its gratitude to Addo for his contributions to the team and wished him success in his future endeavors.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team, Otto Addo, effective immediately. We sincerely thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best moving forward,” the statement read.
The GFA further stated that it will announce the new technical direction for the Black Stars in due course. Addo’s exit is yet another shift in the national team’s coaching setup as Ghana focuses on its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
