Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has expressed his determination to secure a win against Niger in their final match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Although Ghana has already been eliminated from contention for the tournament in Morocco next year—following a 1-1 draw against Angola last Friday—Addo is committed to restoring the team’s pride.

The match against Niger is set to take place on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

While the outcome will not impact Ghana’s qualification status, Addo emphasized the importance of finishing on a positive note.

“We are looking forward to tomorrow [to beat Niger], not to end up as last,” he remarked.

“We want to beat them [Niger] for our honour and for third place,” he added.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT.

Ghana currently sits fourth in Group F with three points after five matches, having recorded three draws and two losses. The team hopes to end the campaign on a winning note in front of their home fans.
