The reasons why some people portray a happy lifestyle on camera while struggling behind the scenes were discussed on “Discipline Ghana”, a programme aired on Loco TV.

Host Efua Nessa engaged guest Veronica Mary on the topic “Why Do Some People Pretend to Be Happy on Social Media When They Are Struggling?”

Veronica Mary explained that some people create a false image of happiness because they fear judgment, criticism, or being seen as weak. She added that others hide their struggles because they do not want to worry their loved ones or appear unsuccessful in the eyes of society.

She noted that the pressure to impress others and maintain a perfect image online pushes some individuals to show a lifestyle that does not reflect their true reality.

According to her, constantly pretending to be happy can put emotional pressure on individuals and prevent them from seeking support when they need it.

Veronica Mary advised people to focus on their personal growth, avoid unhealthy comparisons on social media, and embrace their true selves.

In her concluding message, she encouraged the youth to “leave a normal life but also try hard to progress in life as a youth.”

The discussion on Discipline Ghana highlighted the importance of living an authentic life and focusing on personal development rather than trying to impress others online.
