Tragedy has struck Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality after a herbal doctor and Chief Executive Officer of Antwi Herbal and Spiritual Centre, Dr. Felix Antwi Dankwa, was burnt to death after his residence was allegedly set ablaze by unknown assailants.
The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, while the herbal doctor was asleep in one of the bedrooms.
According to reports, his wife and some workers were occupying the other rooms when they reportedly detected smoke and attempted to escape from the burning house.
The wife and the other occupants managed to escape, but Dr. Antwi Dankwa was reportedly trapped in his room and was later found burnt beyond recognition.
Sources indicate that Dr. Antwi Dankwa and his wife had allegedly been experiencing marital disputes for several years, with the couple reportedly visiting the Kasoa Police Division on several occasions for intervention and settlement.
The latest dispute reportedly led to both parties being invited to the Kasoa Police Division on Monday, August 10, 2026. According to sources, the disagreement nearly resulted in a physical confrontation before the police intervened.
The police subsequently directed both parties to appear before court on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. However, in the early hours of the same day, Dr. Antwi Dankwa was reportedly trapped in the fire that engulfed his residence.
Some residents have raised suspicions about the circumstances surrounding the incident and are pointing fingers at the deceased’s wife.
However, these allegations have not been established, and the exact cause of the fire remains unclear.
The Kasoa Police have reportedly invited the wife for questioning as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
