The Court of Appeal has struck out the Attorney-General’s application seeking to suspend the effect of its decision that acquitted and discharged former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer, Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu.
The decision followed the State’s withdrawal of the application before the court on Wednesday, August 12.
The Attorney-General had filed the application after the Court of Appeal overturned Mrs Tamakloe-Attionu’s conviction and 10-year prison sentence, clearing her of the charges against her.
The State had argued that a stay of execution was necessary while it pursued a further appeal at the Supreme Court.
However, after the withdrawal, the three-member panel struck out the application, leaving the Court of Appeal’s acquittal and discharge in effect.
