National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged Ghana’s judiciary to ensure consistency in its decisions and maintain fairness regardless of the political background of parties involved in cases.
STORY:
Mr Asiedu Nketiah says the credibility of the justice system depends on public confidence that the law is applied equally to everyone.
Speaking on the role of the judiciary, he stressed that courts must remain independent and ensure that similar cases receive similar treatment.
He noted that fairness should remain the guiding principle whenever matters are brought before the courts, irrespective of whether the individuals involved belong to the ruling party, opposition or any other group.
He added that a consistent judicial system strengthens democracy and protects citizens’ trust in state institutions.
