“I am committed to the development of Dormaaman, Not for political gains” – Dormaa Central MP

The Member of Parliament for the Dormaa Central Constituency, Hon. John Kwame Adu Jack, has reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the progress and development of Dormaa Central, prioritizing these goals above political gains and personal interests.
During the commissioning of the Asikasu-Nsuhia Maternity Ward, a project originally initiated by the former Dormaa Central MP and former Ghana Health Minister, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, which was ultimately completed by the current MP, Hon. John Kwame Adu Jack, he emphasized that there is no distinction between a former MP and a current MP, as they both serve as representatives of the Dormaa Central Constituency. He highlighted the importance of completing projects initiated by predecessors rather than hastily embarking on new projects solely for political advantage, which would also contravene the directives of the President, who has instructed the completion of all legacy projects.
He further mentioned that, although he began the construction of a 15-bed capacity ward at the same Asikasu-Nsuhia Health Center, he directed the contractor to temporarily halt that new project to focus on completing the unfinished maternity ward. He stressed that it would be illogical to complete a new project while an existing one remains unfinished, underscoring his belief that community development should take precedence over personal interests in political discourses.
Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, the Former MP and Former Health Minister, speaking at the event, expressed that he played a significant role in facilitating development in Dormaa Central in his capacities as an MP and Health Minister. However, he lamented that his efforts were undermined by his political opponents through falsehoods and fabricated stories, aimed at gaining political sympathy and defeating him. He pointed to the maternity ward as tangible proof of his contributions, asserting that his actions as an MP were substantial, contrary to the narrative promoted by his adversaries.
He emphasized that political power is transient, and addressed the members of the NDC who used his 16-years stay in Parliament as a basis to advocate for his replacement with a new MP. He underscored that being a Member of Parliament is not merely an honor bestowed by voters but a call to serve, urging the current MP to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to him by the electorate to advance the development of Dormaa Central.
The Dormaa Central Municipal Health Director, Mr. Daniel Konka, expressed his gratitude to both the former and current MPs, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu and Hon. John Adu Jack, for their contributions to the successful completion of the maternity ward.
He emphasized the importance of quality healthcare in every human environment, which is achieved through qualified personnel and adequate infrastructure stressing that the completion of the Asikasu-Nsuhia Maternity Ward is expected to provide significant relief and comfort to pregnant women who visit the facility for labor. Mr. Konka urged the health workers and residents of the Asikasu-Nsuhia area to cultivate a culture of maintenance to ensure the facility’s longevity and its ability to serve its intended purposes.
