According to Wiawso Anglican Diocese Bishop, Sefwi Tonque in the entire Western North Region is over 95% in the region.

He further explain that, the use of Sefwi Language outside the Western North Region is worrying as royals of the language turn to belittle their mother tongue. As a result; the language is gradually fadding out due to the shyness and unwillingness of the people to speak the language.

“When Sefwi people go to other regions like the Ashanti and the Greater Accra they always hide behind other languages thereby belittling theirs”.

In an Exclusive Interview with Daily Searchlight, the Bishop for the Anglican Churches in the Western North Region, Rt. Rev’d. Kwame Kyem Ampomah has urged the government to bring the Sefwi on desk as an area of studies in the education system.
