MTN Ghana has announced that transfers from Mobile Money (MoMo) wallets to bank accounts will incur a new fee starting June 1, 2026.
In a notice sent to customers on Monday, May 25, the telecom company stated that MoMo users will be charged 0.75% per transaction when sending money from their wallets to bank accounts. The fee will be capped at GH¢5 per transaction, regardless of the amount transferred.
MTN explained that the adjustment is intended to support improvements in its services. “This will help us continue to serve you better,” the message said.
The new fee is likely to affect customers who frequently use Mobile Money for direct transfers to bank accounts. MoMo remains one of Ghana’s most popular digital payment services, relied upon by millions for everyday transactions, savings, and business payments.
