NDC’s Sammy Gyamfi Challenges President Akufo-Addo’s Assertion on Ghana’s Pre-Pandemic Economy

The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has refuted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s recent claim that Ghana’s economy was thriving prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Gyamfi, the economy was already exhibiting weaknesses before the pandemic struck. In a recent interview on TV3, Gyamfi accused the government of wasteful spending and corruption, insisting that the economy was lackluster even before the pandemic hit.

His comments contradict President Akufo-Addo’s claim that the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund had recognized Ghana’s pre-pandemic economic progress.
