Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, the National Patron of the Nasara Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the wing to remain focused and promote the NPP’s efforts in addressing issues affecting Zongos and other settler communities. Speaking at a workshop organized by the Greater Accra Nasara Youth Wing on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama encouraged the wing to stay true to the founding principles of Nasara and work diligently towards making Zongos strongholds of the NPP.
The Nasara Youth Wing is the Zongo wing of the NPP whose primary role is to mobilize party members in Zongo communities. Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama reminded the attendees that young people represent the life and soul of the party’s political tradition, and they have been instrumental in promoting the ideals of the NPP.
He also highlighted the important role played by the wing in the creation of Nasara as a club, whose executives were appointed at the constituency level. In 2018, the party amended its constitution to make Nasara a special wing of the NPP.
Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama’s call for the Nasara Youth Wing to market the NPP’s achievements in Zongos and other settler communities comes ahead of the 2024 General Elections. He urged the wing to remain determined and selfless in their work, reminding them that it is only through hard work that they can enjoy the fruits of their labour.
Overall, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama’s message to the Nasara Youth Wing was one of optimism and encouragement, urging them to continue working towards the party’s goals and promoting its message in Zongos and other settler communities.
