The much-anticipated State of the Nation address (SONA) by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 8th. The President was originally slated to deliver the address on Tuesday, February 28th, but it has been postponed for unknown reasons.
The announcement was made by the Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annor-Dompreh, while presenting the business statement for the third week ending Friday, March 3rd.
The SONA address is mandatory for a sitting president in Ghana as per Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution. If the new date remains unchanged, the address will take place two days after the 66th independence anniversary celebration in the Volta Region.
