The Concerned Farmers Association of Ghana has dismissed reports suggesting that cocoa farmers across the country have embarked on a protest over challenges facing the sector.
The Association described the reports as inaccurate and urged the public to disregard claims that farmers are demonstrating against government policies or the management of the cocoa industry.
According to the group, while cocoa farmers continue to face challenges, including production difficulties and rising input costs, these concerns should be addressed through constructive engagement rather than political confrontation.
The Association cautioned against attempts to politicise issues affecting cocoa farmers, stressing that the sector remains a critical pillar of Ghana’s economy and requires collective efforts to protect it.
It called on stakeholders, including government agencies, industry players and farmer groups, to work together to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and ensure the sustainability of cocoa production.
The Association further encouraged the media and the public to verify information before circulating reports that could create unnecessary tension within the cocoa sector.
