A man believed to be in his 30s is in critical condition after a brutal mob assault at Kasoa Ghana Flag in Awutu Senya East Municipality, Central Region.
The attack followed allegations he stole an empty milk tin containing GH¢200 from a waakye vendor’s table.
Reports say the suspect approached the waakye vendor pretending to buy food.
After asking about prices,he grabbed the milk tin with about GH¢200 from her morning sales and fled.
Eyewitnesses told media the suspect was chased, caught, and dragged back to the scene, where an angry crowd beat him severely.
Waakye vendor Kate Egyir said he acted like a regular customer at first, but also tried stealing from a nearby drink shop.
She added that thefts have surged recently, with criminals breaking into shops and targeting vendors.
The suspect, nearly lynched,now lies critically injured by the roadside.
