In-form Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah insists he does not fear for his place following the return of Kwame Poku to the club.
The 27-year-old is back for a second spell with the Porcupine Warriors, penning a two-and-a-half year contract with the Ghanaian giants.
Poku returns following an unsuccessful stints in Algeria and Morocco in a period of three seasons. He signed for USM Alger in 2021 after scoring 6 goals from 16 premier league games but struggled to command a regular spot in the squad.
He left to join Morocco outfit, Olympique Khouribga but a troublesome knee injury limited his playing time and was offloaded when OCK were demoted from the top flight.
Amoah is set to face a stiff competition from Kwame Opoku, who was fans favourite before his departure from the club.
But the former Great Olympics striker says he does not fear Kwame Poku’s competition.
”I am not afraid of competition. I do not fear his (Kwame Poku) arrival. At the end of the day, it is the team that benefits. If I do not score, he can score. So that is positive for us.” Amoah said.
Amoah has been Asante Kotoko’s main man since joining the club during the summer transfer window from Great Olympics. He has racked up seven goals from 13 Ghana Premier League games so far.
The former Great Olympics attacker emerged as the hero on Sunday after scoring in stoppage time to help his outfit secure victory over Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash.
