Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Eddie Nketiah sustained an injury during their recent 4-0 win against Everton at the Emirates. The English-born Ghanaian forward came on as a substitute in the 72nd minute but was seen in pain later in the game.
Despite finishing the match, the 23-year-old’s condition will be evaluated before Arsenal’s upcoming game against Bournemouth on March 4.
Nketiah’s starting role has been threatened by Gabriel Martinelli’s return to form, with the Brazilian scoring two goals in the Everton victory.
Bukayo Saka and Martin Odergaard also found the back of the net, while Nketiah provided an assist for Martinelli’s second goal. It remains to be seen if the striker will be fit to play against Bournemouth.
