President John Dramani Mahama has reassigned Ahmed Ibrahim, Member of Parliament for Banda, to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The move forms part of changes to the President’s ministerial team announced on Friday, August 7, 2026.
Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, who previously served as the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, will now oversee the Works, Housing and Water Resources portfolio, which is responsible for key areas including housing development, public infrastructure and water management.
The reassignment is expected to take effect after the completion of the necessary approval processes for the new ministerial arrangements.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.
