Angola National Football Team Arrives in Kumasi for Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers Against Ghana

The Angola national team has touched down at the Kumasi airport for the first leg of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications double-header against Ghana.

The Palancas Negras arrived straight from their Algeria base where they were preparing for the two games.

Coach Pedro Goncalves has the full complement of players he invited to face the Black Stars, with Augusto To Carneiro, Loide Augusto, and Geraldo Costa Bartolomeu replacing Nurio Fortuna, Zito Luvumbo, and Nelson Da Luz. Despite admitting that the match against Ghana will be difficult, Goncalves says his team is ready for the challenge.

The Black Stars will host the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, March 23, before the second leg on Tuesday, March 27, 2023, at Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda. Goncalves believes that although Ghana has changed coaches, there won’t be much change in their performance from the World Cup.
