Court documents have outlined the charges against Bono Regional NPP Chairman Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC) following his recent arrest and detention.
The charge sheet lists two counts, offensive conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, and publication of false news under sections of the Criminal Code, 1960 (Act 29).
According to the statement of offence, the first count relates to comments allegedly made in April 2026 in Accra, where he is said to have used abusive language directed at a judge.
The document quotes the remarks as, “You are not a judge but rather a politician and you have covered your hair with a sack and claim you are a judge,” describing the comments as conduct likely to disturb public peace.
The second count accuses him of publishing false news through a video circulating on social media during the same period.
Prosecutors allege the content contained similar statements and was likely to cause fear and panic while he knew or ought to have known the information was false.
