Amenfi East Has Witnessed More Development in One Year Than NPP’s Eight Years in Office – MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah, has touted the development achievements of the current administration, insisting that the municipality has witnessed unprecedented growth and infrastructural transformation within his first year and a few months in office.

 

According to the MCE, the pace of development under the current government far exceeds what was achieved in the municipality during the previous eight years of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Speaking in an interview with the Channel 247 news Yaw Boagyan,Hon. Ebbah said his administration has prioritized projects that directly impact the lives of residents, resulting in visible improvements in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, water supply, sanitation, youth empowerment, and social welfare.

 

He explained that several educational facilities across the municipality have undergone rehabilitation and renovation, while additional infrastructure has been provided to improve teaching and learning conditions for both students and teachers.

 

In the health sector, he noted that health facilities have received significant support and improvements aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and ensuring that residents, especially those in rural communities, have access to quality medical services.

 

The MCE further disclosed that one of the key successes of his administration has been the rehabilitation and reshaping of several deplorable inner roads within the municipality.

 

According to him, the road improvement projects have eased transportation challenges, facilitated the movement of goods and services, and boosted economic activities among farmers, traders, and business operators.

 

Hon. Ebbah also revealed that his administration has successfully tackled a number of abandoned and inherited projects left behind by previous administrations.

 

He stated that completing such projects has ensured value for money and prevented the wastage of public resources.

 

“As an administration, we are committed to improving the living standards of our people.

 

Within a little over a year, we have recorded remarkable achievements in infrastructure and service delivery, and we remain focused on doing even more,” he emphasized.

 

The MCE highlighted the provision of mechanized and modern boreholes in several underserved communities as one of the major interventions undertaken by the Assembly.

 

He said the initiative has significantly improved access to clean and safe drinking water, reducing the burden on women and children who previously travelled long distances in search of water.

 

Touching on youth development,Hon. Ebbah disclosed that many young people in the municipality have been enrolled onto the National Apprenticeship Programme,where they are receiving vocational and technical training in various trades.

 

He explained that the initiative is aimed at equipping the youth with employable skills, promoting entrepreneurship, and reducing unemployment in the municipality.

 

 

 

Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah, who also serves as the Dean of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Western Region, assured residents that several major development projects are currently in the pipeline and will soon be rolled out to further accelerate the growth and transformation of the municipality.

 

He expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for introducing the 24-Hour Economy Policy, describing it as one of the most innovative interventions aimed at creating jobs and stimulating economic growth.

 

According to the MCE, the establishment of 24-hour economy markets and related economic activities will provide greater opportunities for traders, farmers, artisans, transport operators, and small-scale business owners across the municipality.

 

“The 24-hour economy will significantly reduce unemployment, increase productivity, create sustainable livelihoods for our youth, and enhance commercial activities within the municipality.
