Channel 247’s broadcast journalist, Awuraabena Boateng, will headline the 2026 GGEM School Tour, an initiative designed to inspire discipline and leadership among young students in the Volta Region.

The event, organised by the Genius Girls Empowering Movement (GGEM) in collaboration with the All-Africa Students Union (AASU), is set to take place on Friday, April 24, 2026. Themed “Discipline Today, Leaders Tomorrow,” the outreach will engage students from Abutia Agove E.P/D.A Basic School, Abutia Kloe E.P JHS, and Abutia Teti E.P Junior High School.

As the founder of GGEM, Awuraabena Boateng will host the event, leading a team of prominent speakers and mentors from various fields. The programme aims to empower students—especially young girls—with practical insights on personal development, mental health, leadership, and career progression.

Key speakers include public health advocate Ms. Patsy Adams Ago, mental health therapist and actress Sonia Ibrahim, and brand strategist Mariam Majeed. They will be joined by education expert Dr. Naziazi Ibrahim, fitness coach Coach APK, and other professionals passionate about youth empowerment.

The event will also feature Queen Etornam, Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2025, as well as local government officials Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah and Hon. Francis Profer Dusey, who are expected to show their support for the cause.

Organisers highlight that the GGEM School Tour is part of a larger effort to cultivate confidence, discipline, and leadership among young people, particularly in underserved communities. Through mentorship and interactive sessions, the programme aims to foster a generation of responsible, visionary leaders.

The outreach has garnered significant support from corporate sponsors and media partners, reflecting the growing commitment to youth development and education in Ghana.
