NANA ANSAH’S REPORT
Some victims of the recent sea attack at Senya Bereku have alleged that the armed men who attacked them were Nigerians.

The fishermen, who were rescued after the incident, claimed the attackers spoke with foreign accents they identified as Nigerian and operated with what they described as a high level of coordination and sophistication.
A total of 71 victims have been rescued so far. Forty-seven were brought to Senya Bereku, while 24 others were rescued at Tema in the Greater Accra Region. The number includes three children.
Speaking in an interview
with Nana Ansah, the victims said the attackers had covered their faces with masks, making it difficult to clearly identify them.
According to the victims, the assailants were four in number and arrived in a black and painted boat that looked like a navy vessel.
They further appealed to the government and security agencies to intensify naval patrols and provide adequate protection for fishermen operating at sea.
Meanwhile, the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere, has pledged support for the victims and urged the Member of Parliament (MP) and the District Chief Executive (DCE) to keep a close watch on the situation and ensure the well-being of those affected.

However the District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya West District Hon. Kalala Nyamekye Eghan have also assured support for the victims.
