Haruna Iddrisu, Deputy Minister Escape Serious Injuries in Bolgatanga–Tumu Highway Crash

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are reported to be in stable condition after surviving a road accident on the Bolgatanga–Tumu highway.

The accident happened in the early hours of Thursday as the ministers and their convoy were en route to the Upper West Region. They were travelling to attend official engagements connected to the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

In a statement issued after the incident, the Ministry of Education assured the public that the ministers did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

“The Minister and the Deputy Minister are stable following a road traffic accident involving their convoy on the Bolgatanga–Tumu road,” the statement confirmed.

Other members of the convoy were also unharmed and have since received the necessary medical care.
“All officials involved are in stable condition and are receiving appropriate medical attention,” the release added.
The Ministry expressed appreciation to emergency responders, health workers, and members of the public for their prompt support at the scene.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the accident.
