Ghana Calls for Restraint and Peace Amid Escalating Israel-Iran Conflict

‎In a press statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana urged both nations to exercise maximum restraint and prioritize diplomatic dialogue to prevent further escalation of the conflict. The government emphasized the need for both sides to recommit to international peace efforts and uphold their obligations under the United Nations Charter and international law.

‎“Ghana calls upon the parties to exercise maximum restraint, prioritize dialogue, and accept the channels of diplomatic facilitation to de-escalate the situation,” the statement read. The government also stressed the importance of respecting each country’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

‎With rising tensions threatening broader instability in the already volatile Middle East region, Ghana pledged its readiness to support a unified international response to contain the situation. The government highlighted that collective global action is vital to preventing further destabilization, ensuring peace, and safeguarding international security.

‎“Ghana stands ready to support a unified response of the international community to de-escalate the conflict to prevent its spread, abate the further destabilisation of the Middle East, and contain the unfolding threat to international peace and security,” the statement added.

‎Ghana’s call comes amid growing international anxiety over the consequences of the military actions and the potential for the conflict to spiral into a wider regional crisis.
