Following the revelation of Benjamin Sesko’s purported release clause, a number of the Premier League’s elite clubs have been placed on high alert.
The 20-year-old joined RB Leipzig from their Austrian sister team, RB Salzburg, in the summer of last year.

Given that he earned his reputation at Salzburg before making significant advances to the Bundesliga, it is only logical to draw analogies between him and Erling Haaland given their quick rise from the Austrian league to the Bundesliga.
Sesko got off to a quick start this season, scoring for Leipzig in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
At barely 20 years and 111 days old, he became the club’s youngest player to score in Europe with his Champions League debut goal.
Recently, the goals have become less frequent, which is to be expected for a young player getting used to one of Europe’s best leagues.
The forward will be available for a steal of £43 million this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany, because of the way his trade to Leipzig was set up.
The inexpensive release clause was inserted this summer as a “compromise” in the contract, as Leipzig signed Sesko for £20.4 million this summer with £5 million in add-ons.
Sesko was once connected to Chelsea in a summer transfer rumor, as the Blues considered the Slovenian to be less expensive than their long-term target, Victor Osimhen.
In the interim, the team seems to be pursuing Jhon Duran of Aston Villa, who hasn’t played much for Unai Emery’s team this year.

Arsenal has historically considered Sesko to be a strong substitute for Ivan Toney and will hold off on signing an attacker until the summer.
When they decided to recruit Rasmus Hojlund instead of Sesko in the summer, United was strongly linked to Sesko.
It is widely known, meanwhile, that the Red Devils are still looking to compete for a No. 9 to replace the Hojlund.
