The Petroleum Commission says Ghana has saved about US$2.2 billion through cost reviews and regulatory measures within the oil and gas sector.
According to the Commission, the reviews have helped identify areas where costs could be reduced while improving efficiency in petroleum operations.
Officials say the measures are part of efforts to ensure that Ghana gains maximum value from its natural resources.
The Commission also says stronger oversight and collaboration with industry players remain important in protecting the country’s interests in the oil and gas sector.
The development comes as government continues efforts to improve transparency and accountability in the management of petroleum resources.
