During Ghana’s Month celebrations, a young boy from Breman Kuntanase in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency, Central Region of Ghana, has created bamboo bags to assist himself and his siblings.

Jerry Mensah, a JHS 2 student at Breman Kuntanase Presbyterian School, was inspired to produce these bags as an alternative to expensive ones available in the market, which his family could not afford.

Jerry expressed sadness seeing his siblings and friends attend school without bags, and so he utilized locally sourced bamboo materials to create the bags.

Vida Arthur, a Class 6 student at Kuntanase Presbyterian School, who received one of Jerry’s bamboo bags, expressed happiness and gratitude, as having a bag was her dream, and now she felt content and delighted with her new possession.
