West Ham striker Michail Antonio has expressed his admiration for the development of English-born Ghanaian forward Eddie Nketiah. The 23-year-old has emerged as a key player for Arsenal, particularly during Gabriel Jesus’ injury at the World Cup in Qatar. Nketiah’s impressive scoring record helped Arsenal maintain their position at the top of the table before the return of the Brazilian forward.
Antonio praised Nketiah’s skills and ability, particularly after his impressive performance against West Ham. “He surprised me. He was dropping in deep, picking it up, he rolled a couple of our defenders to score his goal. He was quality,” Antonio said on the Footballers Football Podcast. Since then, Antonio has been keeping an eye on Nketiah’s performances and has been impressed by what he has seen.
The West Ham striker added that Nketiah is a great striker, and he is pleased to see the young player show what he can do. Nketiah has continued to earn his spot in Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup and is expected to lead the line in Arsenal’s game against Leicester City on Saturday.
