The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared that leading Ghana for more than eight years is attainable. Justin Frimpong Kodua, the General Secretary of the party, stated that the NPP will draw inspiration from the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Nigeria, which has secured a historic third consecutive victory.

In a congratulatory tweet to President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC, Kodua stressed that the NPP will seek to replicate the APC’s electoral success. He noted that the NPP is prepared to learn from the APC’s triumph in the face of global socio-economic disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, which have made governing difficult for many political parties.

The APC recently won the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, with Tinubu emerging victorious after obtaining 8,794,726 votes, representing 36% of valid votes cast. Tinubu is set to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in May.
