Two Protesters Shot by Chinese Miners in Krobo Sekyere

In Krobo Sekyere, Wassa East District, two protesters were allegedly shot by Chinese miners during a demonstration against illegal mining, also known as galamsey.

According to a report by Kessben FM’s Ahanta Edguzie on Breaking News, the shooting took place after protesters stormed a mining site operated by the Chinese.

 

The miners claimed that they had been given rights to the land by the area’s Chief and insisted that the protesters had no authority to disrupt their work.

Ahanta further reported that the two victims are currently fighting for their lives in the hospital. The Chinese miners involved in the shooting have yet to be arrested.
