The Ghana Police Service has arrested two brothers in connection with the killing of a 54-year-old man and the shooting of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba near Weija.
The suspects, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, were arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command with support from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) following the incident on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service on Sunday, August 9, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Chief Superintendent Juliana Obeng, police received information that a man and his wife had been shot at the estate.
A police team from the Weija Division proceeded to the scene, where they found the victims, Rahman Mohamed, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, suffering from gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.
The couple was rushed to Finney Hospital, Weija, where Rahman Mohamed was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife was later referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and is currently receiving treatment.
The deceased’s body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police say during interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida admitted to shooting the couple, claiming he was driven by what he described as repeated comments from the deceased, who allegedly referred to him as “lazy and useless,” affecting him mentally.
The suspect later led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved. Police said the weapon was found concealed beneath the wall drop of Bala Bilyon, who works with the deceased.
Investigations have revealed that the two brothers live together in the same room at Tuba.
Adams further told police that the firearm was allegedly given to him by a friend identified as Gideon. He led investigators to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but the suspect was not found.
Police say efforts are ongoing to locate Gideon to assist with investigations, while Bala Bilyon remains in custody for questioning.
