Tragedy at Funeral as Ayanfuri Chief Allegedly Shoots Himself Dead During funeral Ceremony
Shock and grief have engulfed Ayanfuri after Nana Kwabena Okyere, Mmratehene of the Ayanfuri Traditional Area, reportedly died following an accidental shooting at a funeral ceremony.
According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred during the funeral rites of Abusua Panyin Akwasi Kwateng when the chief allegedly discharged a pump-action gun accidentally, suffering a critical gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was rushed to the Pentecost Hospital in Ayanfuri for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead while receiving care.
The heartbreaking incident has left mourners and residents in disbelief as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
According to report, the Youths chief was testing his juju but failed him.
He died on arrival to the hospital.
The body of the deceased has been deposited to the mortuary for autopsy report.
The case has been reported to the police.
