Accra, May 11 — The Ghana-China Business Chamber of Commerce has donated 50 state-of-the-art student desks to Achimota Senior High School to help address the school’s furniture deficit.

The modern desks, presented by the Chamber’s Chairman, Mr Liu Wen Min, are intended to replace obsolete and dilapidated furniture that has long hindered effective teaching and learning at the school.

Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony held on the school premises last Monday, Mr Wen Min described the donation as part of the Chamber’s corporate social responsibility. He noted that he was personally moved by the poor condition of some of the school’s chairs and desks.

“After a few enquiries and consultations with the Chamber, we decided to help acquire these state-of-the-art furniture for the school,” he said.

Receiving the donation, the Headmaster of Achimota Senior High School, Mr Ebenezer Graham Acquaah, expressed delight and extended gratitude to Mr Liu Wen Min and the Chamber for their support. He pledged to ensure the desks are put to good use.

Mr Acquaah further appealed for additional assistance in other areas where the school may require support.
