Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has revealed his preference for performing in local communities like Wasa over international venues such as Norway. He attributes this choice to the lack of unity in Ghana’s entertainment industry, which he says hinders artists from charging their true worth for shows abroad.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Angel FM, Shatta Wale explained, “There is no unity in the industry, and so there is not a unified way to charge. That’s why I’ll always choose to perform in Wasa for the people who made me who I am.”

The artist also addressed broader issues within the entertainment space, including the ban on celebrity endorsements of alcoholic products. Shatta Wale expressed frustration over the lack of appreciation for his efforts to advocate for the industry.

“I’ve fought enough for this industry, but I’m always disrespected. I won’t keep fighting for a cause only to be disrespected by the same people I’m fighting for,” he stated.

For Shatta Wale, staying grounded and connected to his local fan base remains a priority, as he continues to serve those who have supported his journey.
