President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his unwavering trust in Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Speaking in Kumasi, the president emphasized that throughout their political journey together, Dr. Bawumia has never lied to him.
“I trust him, and Ghanaians must trust him too,” President Akufo-Addo stated, urging voters to support Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 elections. He contrasted Bawumia’s honesty and capability with former President John Dramani Mahama, describing Mahama’s leadership as a failed attempt not worth revisiting.
The president commended Dr. Bawumia’s readiness to lead, assuring the electorate that his leadership could take Ghana to greater heights. “Bawumia is an honest man who can continue my good works. No other person can do that because it’s not in their DNA,” he remarked.
This is not the first time Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia. During a visit to Wa in October, he praised the vice president’s nearly two decades of dedication and loyalty, underscoring his capability to drive Ghana’s development agenda forward.
“Bawumia’s track record and experience make him the ideal candidate to break the 8 and lead Ghana into the future,” he reiterated.
Akufo-Addo took the opportunity to rally Ghanaians behind Dr. Bawumia, describing him as a leader with loyalty, commitment, and a clear vision for the nation’s progress.
