Ghana international Antoine Semenyo is confident Manchester City can use their recent Carabao Cup victory to fuel a push for the Premier League title. City clinched their ninth EFL Cup with a dominant 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday, March 22, marking Semenyo’s first major trophy of his career.

While the cup win provides a boost, Pep Guardiola’s side faces a tough challenge in the league, trailing leaders Arsenal by nine points, though they have a game in hand. Semenyo expressed optimism, saying, “I think it gives us a boost and confidence coming back from the international break, and hopefully, we can catch up.”

He added, “We don’t want to say too much because momentum can swing quickly, so we just have to do our job and hopefully finish it off. We’ve got top-quality players, create a lot of chances, and have good goalscorers, so things can change fast.”

With a critical league clash against Arsenal scheduled for April, the title race remains tight and could go down to the wire. For now, Semenyo emphasized that City’s focus is on taking each game as it comes, especially after the international break.

Since joining in January, Semenyo has quickly made an impact, scoring five goals in nine league appearances, and is becoming a key figure in the squad.

He is set to join the Ghana national team in Vienna on Monday as they prepare for international friendlies against Germany and Austria.
